LIGHTS

(20th Feb 2012 - King Tut's Glasgow)
We were lucky enough to gain photo passes for LIGHTS latest gig in Glasgow at King Tut's. The choice of venue was fantastic, the crowd was fantastic and LIGHTS was fantastic.

If anyone's been to King Tut's before they'll know how great it is for showcasing talent. There's the small (but not too small) stage and then there's the floor, which looks small until it's filled with 300 people then you start to think it's not so small after all.

So while the fans continued to pour in, LIGHTS' fellow Canadians 'Nightbox' took to the stage with their unique electro-indie sound and killed it, whilst managing to get the now bigger crowd involved. With the crowd now warmed up the atmosphere was electric and everyone was ready for LIGHTS to take the stage.

As she takes the stage with her band -the crowd going crazy- the atmosphere in the room goes through the roof. Performing songs from both 'The Listening' and her second studio album 'Siberia' she continued to keep the positive vibe in the room at a high. It was clear everyone in the room knew almost every song she performed as they sang along with her, hanging on her every word. The crowd were in their element as LIGHTS went on to perform 'Banner', giving them a chance to get involved and sing along. A few songs passed and it was great seeing everyone still enjoying themselves including the band. 'River' for me was the most memorable song of the night, absolutely everyone sang along and were jumping around, it was like one huge dance party. And as the night drew to an end the still energetic LIGHTS continued to give the songs and the crowd her all, still chatting with her fans in between songs and keeping everyone hyped.

This was a truly great gig, with a great feel good vibe and we're glad to have been a part of it. If you haven't heard of 'Nightbox' or 'LIGHTS' before then we highly recommend you take some time and give them a listen, you won't be disappointed. Much Love, Life is Music TV.
